In the rope community there are occasional reports of people having an allergic skin reaction to hemp rope. We have never heard of an allergic reaction to flax (which comes from the same plant that produces the fibres that make linen), but it is obviously sensible to bear the possibility in mind. If contact between flax rope and skin produces an adverse reaction, then our advice must be to consult your doctor.
